Catering costs are itemized according to a price per person for a selected menu, beverages,staff and rentals. Food and beverages vary in price according to menu choicesand wine selections. Additionally, rental needs can vary from simple tables, chairs, linens, with basic tableware, to eleborate linens, crystal, china, chair covers, etc.. Our staff can work with you closely to help create your vision within the paramaters of your budget.

 

A Big Sur Affair's Catering Policies

Food & Beverages

All catered food and beverage must be consumed on the premises during the
scheduled time of the event;

Confirmation

A $1,000 dollar nonrefundable deposit or 50% of the estimated due and a signed confirmation letter is required to confirm your function date. This deposit will go towards your catering costs;

Cancellation

If your function is cancelled less than 6 weeks before the scheduled date, 50% of the estimated cost will be due. If your function is cancelled less than one week before the scheduled date, the entire amount of the function will be due;

Payment

A deposit of 50% of the total bill will be due eight weeks prior to the scheduled date in the form of a check drawn on a FDIC insured bank account. Non-US funds will not be accepted. The balance will be due fourteen days prior to the function along with a final count. We require a major credit card along with your final payment to guarantee additional charges, should your costs exceed the estimated bill;

Guarantees

Confirmation of the exact number of guests is due two weeks prior to your function. If no guarantee is received by our catering office by this date, we will assume the number of guests attending is the maximum stated on your contract. If the final number of guests exceeds the guaranteed count, you will be responsible for the balance at the conclusion of the function.

Damage

Client agrees to be responsible for any damage done to function site by client, his or her guests, independent contractors, or other agents under the client's control.

Personal Property

Agents, representatives, subcontractors and employees of A Big Sur Affair
shall not be responsible for lost, stolen, broken, or forgotten articles.

Weather

A Big Sur Affair cannot be responsible for the weather as it may affect
any function held outdoors. Any function planned for outdoors is done so at the
client's own risk.

Staff

There is an eight hour minimum staff requirement for all functions held in Big Sur. This includes a two hour set up and one hour break down. Functions that exceed eight hours will be billed at time and a half, payable at the conclusion of your function.

Acceptance

These policies shall be considered accepted once both parties have signed the "deposit and acceptance".
